Little background info:
James Brown defined her as the best Funky Lady from its revue and one of the best singers that he ever witnessed. The 17 numbers on this album contain the period 1965 up to 1972 in which Vicki were accompanied by the phenomenal rhythm sections such as “Famous Flames” and “The JB’s”. The majority of the numbers was produced by the Godfather of Soul himself and is considered as best what he has ever recorded. Soul hits such as “The Message From The Soul Sisters”, “Think” and “You've Got The Power”. Two duets sung with James Brown, “Once You Get Started” what was later become famous due to Rufus and Chaka Khan. “Don't Throw Your Love in The Garbage Can”, “You're Welcome”, “Stop On By” a duet with the man as James' right-hand, Bobby Byrd, her spouse with whom she got together two famous daughters, namely Carleen Anderson and Jhelisa.
