![]() American punk rock band Bad Religion brings us a new album “New Maps Of Hell” this is their 15th album as they have been making music for over 25 yrs now. I think I’m going to get this album as i have not heard of this band before and i’m curious if they are any good but in the meantime some of you could tell us if they are good. The albums drops out on the 10th of July so you have a chance to get it early! Bad Religion is an American punk rock band that was originally formed in Southern California in 1980 by Jay Bentley (bass), Greg Graffin (vocals), Brett Gurewitz (guitars), and Jay Ziskrout (drums). This band is often credited for leading the revival of punk rock during the late 1980s, as well as influencing a large number of other punk and rock musicians throughout their career. They are known for their socially conscious lyrics and the ability to express their ideology with the use of metaphor, an advanced vocabulary and vocal harmonies known as the “oozin aahs.” Bad Religion songs deal with matters of personal as well as political responsibility, and despite the band’s moniker, deal more with freedom than atheism. Bad Religion continues to record new material and tour. ![]() New Maps of Hell is the confirmed title for Bad Religion’s fourteenth full-length studio album, which is slated for release on July 10, 2007. The title is somewhat of a departure for the band as well, as most albums also share a name with one of the songs in the album, except How Could Hell Be Any Worse? and The Process of Belief, which are named from lyrics within songs. Title may refer to a book on Science Fiction history by Kingsley Amis published in 1961 Bad Religion’s follow-up to 2004’s The Empire Strikes First was originally planned to be recorded and released in 2006, but was not completed. Due to the band’s ongoing support with their previous release, the album was put on hold until 2007. Despite the delay, frontman Greg Graffin was also busy supporting his recent solo album Cold as the Clay. New Maps of Hell will also mark the third Bad Religion album released after returning to Epitaph Records for 2002’s The Process of Belief and with guitarist Brett Gurewitz since his departure during the release of 1994’s Stranger Than Fiction.
