Davey Rockit began playing music at the age of 5. Raised outside of Nashville Tennessee and son to a psych-a-delic rock/funk/jazz drummer, music was always around for little David. At the age of 12 Davey became infatuated with DJ'n and producing hip hop music. Blessed with his parents extensive record collection Davey began experimenting with the records equipped with an old panasonic turntable and a guitar amp. Soon afterwards he got his hands on a 4 Track cassette recorder and quickly began making cut and paste sample based beats. @ fourteen Davey began playing local shows in Nashville with various hip hop acts. By Sixteen he was already a resident DJ in Nashville's only hip hop night (A weekly lasting 2 and a half years). At the age of 18 David (going under the name EQ) was linked with hip hop act Mars ILL which led to a touring job with fellow DeepSpace5er Listener. Touring for 2 and half years across the midwest, south-east, and east coast. In 2005 Listener and Dave put out the record Ozark Empire which was released on MUSH records. The record was charted in the CMJ top 5 college hip hop charts for 3 months straight. ..moving forward... Davey has opened for acts like Atmosphere, MF DOOM?, to acts like Lynard Skynard (seriously). He now tours full time with Pigeon John. Performing in 38 states this year alone plus Ireland, Paris and Nassau Bahamas.
